May has to be one of the best months – not only are there two bank holidays, but festival season is getting in full swing, alfresco spots are opening up and there’s a proper buzz in the air.
As you can tell from the mega guide below (honestly, I’d get a cuppa before you start reading), Bristol is ready to party this month!
The guide is a bit late this month due to Easter frivolities and illness, but that means I can also extend it to include early May bank holiday events, happy days!
Welcome to March – let’s hope that it’s a drier month than February, or January! I’m still very much in the hearty food and cosy corners vibe, but more than ready to enjoy some blue skies

My first events round-up of 2024, and it’s already a packed one!
It’s the first proper month of the year when we can start venturing out and making fun plans again, so read on for dinners, Valentine’s Day events, new openings and lots more.
Never mind the wind and rain, we’ve got a jam-packed month of brilliant food and drink events lined up, and they’re almost all indoors!
From a retro ski lodge to wine festivals and a meal themed around the last night of the Titanic (!), there are plenty of weird and wonderful ways to spend your month. Let me know what you get up to!
There are some final festival flourishes this month, as well as some intriguing new openings, and more than enough other events to keep you well fed and watered. It’s going to be a good one, whatever the weather!
Summer tiiiiime, here we go! We’re firmly into beer gardens and Harbourside drinks terrritory, and dare I say it, cider slushies if that’s your vibe (it very much is mine).
The sunshine has arrived, along with lots of fun excuses to spend time outdoors, from beer festivals to food tours. As ever there are also a bunch of new places for you to visit, including a few vegan joints and a couple of exciting newbies at Wapping Wharf.
It’s a bumper bank holiday month, so you’ve got even more time to spend on fun days out!

Ignore the intermittent flurries of snow and hail – spring is here! And in Bristol that means the start of festival season, boat trips and lots of other exciting stuff.
Among the events and new openings, I’ve even chucked in some advance news for big events coming up in May so you can make your plans early. As Maui would say, you’re welcome!
Here we go towards spring, and it’s good to see lots of green shoots of events, awards and new openings in the midst of a lot of uncertainty for businesses.

As summer slips away and we ease into autumn, I for one am hoping for a sunny September so that we can still enjoy pub gardens and G&Ts for a while longer before settling into fluffy socks and stout season.
From tequila tap rooms to food festivals and some exciting new places to visit, there’s a lot you’ll want to drink and eat this month….
Whether this month has more storms or heatwaves in store (and I’m sure it has both), there are lots of tasty options to tidy yourself over throughout August, whether you fancy a cider tasting, a cake making class or a party at a gin distillery!
Top of the December morning to you! You may be relieved to hear that this is a slightly trimmer guide than usual, as the events unsurprisingly thin out towards mid December.
