Never mind the wind and rain, we’ve got a jam-packed month of brilliant food and drink events lined up, and they’re almost all indoors!
From a retro ski lodge to wine festivals and a meal themed around the last night of the Titanic (!), there are plenty of weird and wonderful ways to spend your month. Let me know what you get up to!
News
It’s that time already – Bristol Christmas Market returns from 3rd November until 23rd December. The Jäger Barn Bar is back in the middle of Broadmead, plus the Alpine bar at the end nearer Cabot Circus, both serving up mulled drinks, Baileys hot chocolate and other festive drinks. You can also browse food stalls with bratwurst, Yorkshire pudding wraps, hog roast rolls, crepes and more.
Sticking with the festive theme, Winterland is back at Propyard from 25th Nov with a roller disco, boules, retro arcade games and an ’80’s-themed ski lodge bar, serving up festive drinks, hotdogs and sweet treats.
The Scrandit have a few more pop-ups this month, including Woei Lee showcasing the best of Malaysian street food from 2nd-5th, Mei Mei’s Street Cart doing Chinese comfort food from 9th-12th and The Street Taverna serving up Greek Cypriot dishes from 16th – 26th.
She Drinks Beer is back The Good Measure on Tuesday 7th – all are welcome for their anniversary beer launch.
The Pata Negra pop-up continues at Bambalan until 25th Nov – get involved with their menu of tapas, pintxos, sherry and great wine. There’s a special celebration of Spanish food and drink on Thursday 16th too!

New places to visit
Recently opened places include Bruhaha‘s new brewery bar in Totterdown, The Granary on Welsh Back, Wangs noodle bar and Real Habesha on Gloucester Road and Illuminati cocktail bar.
Coming soon: The return of Renato’s! This much-loved pizza bar is reopening under the management of the same chap behind Pizza is Lovely, who I enjoyed many excellent pizzas from over lockdown. I can’t wait! You’ll also soon be able to get your Pizzarova fix on Whiteladies Road, as they open their 4th restaurant in what was formerly Hubbox
A bit further down the line are a new nacho joint and live music venue on East Street in Bedminster, and the reopening of The Colosseum on Redcliffe Hill. There are also a couple of newbies opening soon in the Old City, but more to be revealed shortly!
That’s it for this month, let me know what you’re planning on booking over on Twitter or Threads, see what I’m eating on Instagram or see the latest local food news by following A Life Less Organised on Facebook.
