Bristol Food & Drink: November

After an unexpected fallow month on the blog (blame the lurgy), this is a bit of a bumper edition, with even more events and new openings than usual!

I also just updated my Foodie Gift Guide, if you’ve started thinking about Christmas presents…

Read on to see what delicious things you could be doing this month… If you find this or any of the other guides useful, you can set up a subscription or shout me a coffee to say cheers if you like.

Perfect timing for winter – Pasta Ripiena has launched a stuffed pasta tasting menu! You can enjoy a starter, five different types of stuffed pasta, and a panna cotta for dessert, for £55 per person.

Speaking of wintry food, Bristol Christmas Market opens on Friday 6th November and is open daily until 23rd December – expect the usual bars with mulled drinks, bratwurst stalls, Yorkshire pudding wraps and all that jazz!

Chef Matty Grove from Caper & Cure / Carmen Street Wine is appearing in the current series of Masterchef: The Professionals – his food is absolutely stupendous, so he should smash it!

In the past few months we’ve said goodbye to some amazing restaurants in Bristol, but two of the hardest to see go were Box-E and Bertha’s in Wapping Wharf, which had been stalwarts of the local food scene for a decade, and did everything right, from fantastic food to raising money for great causes. They’ll be greatly missed.

We’re into the time of year when businesses start releasing crazy/inspired advent calendars, and my favourite so far is the one from Gingerbeard’s Preserves (mainly because I am OBSESSED with their hot sauces, jams and chutneys). You can find more festive gift ideas in my Bristol Food & Drink Gift Guide.
