Bristol Food & Drink: August

It’s a packed August ahead, with bank holiday festivals, new openings and some fun workshops to sink your teeth into. Let me know what you get up to!

News

Feast On have announced their 2026 dates and released some early bird tickets, starting at £8.80 for adult tickets. I was gutted to miss this year’s festival, but was told by many of those who went that the food, market and classes line-up was great, so secure your ticket for next year!

WANGS in Montpelier are just over £1k off their target for their crowdfunder to bring a Cantonese charcoal oven to their restaurant – the prizes are really great, from limited edition chocolate or chilli oil collaborations, to ramen kits and even a karaoke and fried chicken party!

Looking for some summer bargains? You can enjoy four homegrown pints for £16 at Canteen on Stokes Croft!

New places to visit

We’ve recently welcome two new cafes to the city centre – Sandwi opened their latest coffee shop on the corner of Queen square and Prince St, with a big menu of cakes, snacks, burgers and grab-and go sandwiches and salad bowls.

EFZIN Coffee have opened at the end of Clare St on the corner with Baldwin St, serving up pastries, cakes and speciality coffee.

Jikoni will be opening a new location at The Station on Silver St on 22nd August. They’ll be opne for breakfast and lunch, with a menu inspired by food from Kenya, Ethiopia and Somalia. If you’ve had their food before, you’ll be as excited as I am!

Cappadocia are opening a new restaurant on Whiteladies Road following the success of their Baldwin St restaurant. Table Five will offer an ‘intimate dining and an elevated culinary experience’ – think classic Turkish dishes with a bit of extra pizazz and innovation! Bookings are now open, with tables available from late August.

Unwin’s Brewery, founded by a former brewer at New Bristol Brewery, are going to open a micro-brewery and pub in arches by Temple Meads, close to Little Martha’s taproom, so we can probably exect them to be on next year’s East Bristol Brewery Trail!
