Bristol Food & Drink: June 2025

Here it is, we’re into summer and my birthday month! And before I head off on holiday for a week, here I am putting together your guide for all things delicious this month.

Don’t forget to tell me what you’re planning on booking over on Instagram, I’m nosey like that. And if you want to show your appreciation for this guide, you can set up a subscription or shout me a birthday sangria to say cheers if you like. On we go!

News

Mark your calendars for two big celebrations in July – Bristol Seafood Week from 7th – 13th July featuring special dinners, talks and demos, and the first ever Bristol Cider Week from 25th July, which will have a range of tours, tastings, trails and even street parties!

Bristol Seafood Week

Bristol has a new gin maker in town, and they’re already winning awards! Spirit of Bristol has a range of four flagship gins, with the Clifton Royale and Harbourside gins already winning gold at the World Gin Awards. Having tried the gins myself on a very boozy boat trip the other day, I can confirm that they’re all very tasty, and even better that the head distiller Peter is committed to everything being as sustainable as possible, from the ingredients to the packaging.

Festivals & Celebrations

It’s your last chance to nab a ticket to this year’s Bristol Craft Beer Festival on the harbourside (13th & 14th June), a ticket for one of the sessions is £62 and includes all of your beer (and there are over 300 to choose from) or cider, with plenty of other goodies and street food available to purchase on the day too. It’s one of my favourite events in the calendar, so maybe I’ll see a few of you there!

There are also two brewery parties coming up this month, starting with Hubfest at Hop Union Brewery in Brislington on Sat 7th, and then The Social at Lost and Grounded Brewers the following week on Fri 13th.

Take your pick on Sunday 8th between Open Farm Sunday at Bath Soft Cheese or Sh*t Hot Fest Bristol – a new hot sauce festival at Lost Horizon.

The Port o’ Bristol gang are bringing the Festa de Sao Joao back to The Pump House on Sunday 22nd, so you can expect a day of music, food and wine inspired by the city of Porto, and entry is free!

Combine theatre with a traditional celebratory feast in The Life of Job at Winterbourne Medieval Barn on Friday 27th – something a bit different!

The last weekend of the month is looking pretty boozy, with Bristol Whisky Festival at Bristol Beacon (£25), or wine fans can choose between Fete De La Cave (£15) on Gloucester Road, or Averys Summer of Wine (£35).

New places to visit

There are some exciting expansions of much-loved local businesses coming up, including a new Catley’s bakery on Old Market, a second Bristol restaurant for Cappadocia on Whiteladies Road, and a second location on Gloucester Road for natural wine bar KASK – good times all round!

Pinkmans has now opened in Pickle Street play cafe on East St in Bedminster, as has Boona Boona Coffee Roasters around the corner.

Coming soon a few doors away is Bake It Bristol, a ‘competitive baking experience’ which is something I’ve never heard of before, but I’m guessing if you’ve ever wanted to go on Bake Off this is the next best thing!

One of the biggest stories this week was the new Moomin Boba House on Park Row from CUPP, where you can try limited edition themed drinks and pancakes.

Over in Redcliffe, premium burger joint Prime by Pasture opens on 5th June, and on Upper Maudlin St in town, Suyahut has just opened, serving African street food in the city centre.

Back Garden Pizzeria have just announced that they’ll be opening soon on St Stephens Street in the city centre, good news if you like great pizza! Along the same lines, if you’ve been to Manchester you’ll be familiar with popular pizza chain Rudy’s, who will be opening their first Bristol branch on nearby Baldwin St soon.
